Notes about training
- General karate is open to all students and will be based on the 3k's of Shotokan enabling the students to progress through the grading syllabus.
- Advanced karate is open to adults of all grades and children of 3rd kyu (brown belt) and above and will be based on bunkai training. These classes will not work towards the grading syllabus as the focus will be indepth work on kata bunkai. We will take the Heian katas and break them down into sections to be practised as bunkai over many weeks.
- Personal training is for adults only (18+) and is to allow students to train in half of the hall whilst the Kobujutsu class is running. This class will not be taught, unless Kobujutsu is cancelled
- Kobujutsu is open to over 16s only. Although it is recommended for kobujutsu students to have done karate previously, it is not mandatory.
- Costs are per person and discounts apply to immediate family groups, where you only pay for 2 members of the family each session.
- If adults are staying for the advanced karate and their children have been training in the general karate, the children are welcome to stay and watch the session whilst the adults train. They must behave and not disrupt the class and are not permitted to join in from the sidelines as the training will be a bit more involved!
- Lesson costs are £2.50 per person (£5.00 for immediate family groups)
- Two lessons on the same night cost £4.00 (£8.00 for immediate family groups)
